More About Tribute Quartet
This acappella quartet began as “Just For Fun” in the late 1990’s with members from Perham, Dent, Vergas and Lake Park. As members changed the name “Tribute” was adopted from a gospel quartet that began in the 1980s involving one of the members. This group sings by request at a wide variety of events throughout the area.
Don Garber, tenor, was born and raised in the Dent area. He retired from farming, hunts and sings for fun. He and his wife, Carolann, are grandparents and continue to live on the family farm. He has a long history of singing or whistling solos, plus singing in quartets and choruses.
Norm Floden, lead, retired from the MN DNR as a Conservation Officer and supervisor. He and his wife, Mary, are happy grandparents and live on Paul Lake near Perham. He has sung solos, gospel, church choir and in quartets for 25 years.
Greg Hayes, bass, is a retired MN State Patrol Supervisor. He and his wife, Sarah, reside on Tamarac Lake north of Pelican Rapids. They have two children, Valerie and John. Greg has sung with the Fargo/Moorhead Master Chorale and the Great Plains Harmony Chorus for 31 years, as well as several quartets.
Chuck Speer, baritone, has been the Band Director at Underwood MN public school since 2003. He taught in southern MN and “fell into barbershop” as a Lead with the Willmar Barbershop Chorus in 2001. He has since “seen the light” and joined Tribute as a baritone. Chuck is also the director of “Heart O Lakes Harmony” a barbershop chorus based in Pelican Rapids which includes the rest of the quartet members. Chuck lives in Underwood with his wife, Kerrie, and their 3 children.
